On true love . . .

"Some people are settling down. Some people are settling. And some people refuse to settle for anything less than butterflies." -Carrie Bradshaw, Sex and the City

As for the people who won't settle for anything less than butterflies, are they expecting too much?

Maybe they'll never find their butterflies.

pghcitiboy,

The closest thing to butterflies I've ever had turned out to be the guy, who in the end, hurt me most.

When a relationship that gave you butterflies ends - it really hurts.

On a more recent note, I've been having butterflies because a guy's profile really struck me in my online dating world. My profile is hidden, because I realized I'm not interestesd in most of the attention my profile gets. But I sent the one guy I'm interested in a smile. He has been offline since the day before I sent him the smile, so he hasn't responded yet.

Now everytime I get a message(always spam from the online dating service) my hands shake with nervousness until I realize it's just spam.

Butterflies are bad. I always feel stupid for having them. With the case of this online guy, it will probably go no where.

I'm trying to be a realist. The guy will either ignore my interest, not be back online ever, or he'll turn out to be not what I thought.

Anyhow, I'm leaving my account open for another week. The guy has until next weekend to get back to me and then I am closing the window on the online dating thing forever (if not for a long while).

Talk about a short-lived venture.
